Default IE 8 Running Extremely Slow

I have three internet browsers on my machine. I have IE8, Google Chrome, and Firefox For the last couple of days IE8 has run extremely slow. I can use Firefox and Chrome without any problems. Can anyone tell me some possible solutions? I did unload McAfee virus scanner which had somehow crept back onto my machine (I really, really don't know how unless it came with something else I downloaded because I got rid of it a long time ago). HELP!

Just leave IE.
You have Chrome and Firefox running, why bother using IE?
They're both much much better than IE.

It's good to have a choice and I know that I have at least one essential tool on my PC that will only work with IE (my bank's software). I have found that IE8 is running slow lately but I have also had a problem with Chrome and now cannot get it to open at all so I'm down to FF as the only browser that works efficiently on my PC!

Use Safari! If it happens to get slow somehow, just hit the "Reset Safari" button and your caches, cookies will be cleaned therefore you won't get slowdowns again!
