Default CRT screens

Is there any of you still using CRT screen for your computer? If so, be peace in mind. You are not alone. I am still using a CRT screen. I am saving up for an LCD screen though. I need it because I work on the computer hours a day and I concern about my eye health.

My son still has one as he cannot afford to buy a flat screen, but he is also in need of a new computer so when I have saved enough I may buy him a laptop so he won't need a monitor at all.

Honestly, CRTs are way superior in many ways than flat panels. I have both, a 19 inch CRT and a 15.5 wide screen flat. Depends on what I'm doing as to which I used.

I use a 19" HDTV television for my monitor. I haven't owned a CRT monitor in at least 4 years or so. I hate how huge and heavy they are.

You are right. I believe it is more durable and less fragile than an LCD screen. They said also that you had better use CRT screens when you do graphic design.

Yeah, as bad as a new LCD monitor is, it gets so much worse once you get a good collection of dead pixels build up. I've not had too many problems myself but I've a friend whose monitor I couldn't have used, it was that bad.

I do not agree. CRTs has a sensitive components inside that are very fragile and anti-magnet. So if you happen to have magnetic keychain, toys or something similar, you may ruin your CRT.

This won't even happen in Flat Screens.

One more thing, CRT strains my eyes real bad! Can't stand on the computer for more than 2 hrs!

Thanks Macfrix for remind me about magnet things. You are right about the CRT straining your eyes. It used to happen to me also. Thanks God just now I got my LCD screen. I don't need to deal with it again.

I would go with macfrik. Even the normal desktop speakers can affect the quality of the CRT monitor. I don't say this out of theory but this really happened to me.

I have an LCD screen now and I will never go back to CRT monitors. No offense meant to those who are still using CRT.
