When it comes to online businesses, what do you think is the best one to get started with? Would you develop something and then sell it online or would you go the route of affiliate marketing?

I think blog is a pretty good start... Many people start their online business with blog first... WordPress is a good blog software, it is free and easy to use... you should try that...

What's affiliate marketing? I've never heard of it before. Is there a way to learn about it? I use WordPress to blog, but I wasn't aware that you could make money with it.

affiliate marketing is really hard to get money...

for starters i suggest to get google adsense.

And get a free blog from blogger.com.

Pick your topic to blog that you are interested.

Post at least 3 times a week.

For the first start, just go with blog... It's easy and free... Then put your adsense into your blog...
You can get around 200-400 US Dollar per month...

Is this true? I have a blog that I haven't touched for months cuz I don't think I could get any money out of it. How do I put adsense in my blog?

First you must register/apply for adsense... There's a lots of adsense there... Google, Adbrite and so on... But the most popular is Google Adsense... Apply for that... Just go to https://www.google.com/adsense/

After you got adsense... put your adsense code to your blog... That's it... And don't forget to post something interesting in your blog... At least you post 2-3 times in a week...

I believe, you have to have many visitors to reach the $ 400 every month.

Post something interesting in your blog, then automatically many visitors will visit your blog... Update your blog 2-3 times per week... If you use Wordpress, use plugin to promote your blog... For example using SEO plugin...

I just visited your blog. It's cool, nice and neat. And you seems to update it regularly. I always think that a blog post should be at least 500 word length. That's why I rarely update my blog as I cannot write that long so often. Thanks for the insight.
