EMTs Outmoded?

I retired from an ambulance service I used to work at and now I just stay home. My question is "Do you think that Emergency Medical Techs are going the way of the Dinosaur?". I see so many ambulance services now just hiring paramedics I just wondered if the EMT is a passing profession?

It depends. Here there are two levels of ambulance aid. There are ultra fast response people who may arrive on a motorbike, with limited equipment and experience but are able to offer rapid help and also assess the situation. So there is a need I think.
