Default Bureacracy closes lemonade stand?

In Oregon a 7 year old girl's lemonade stand was shut down by a health department official for lacking a $120 permit. Are you serious? Didn't we used to encourage kids to do things like this?

Geeze, that is crazy! I sometimes wonder what is wrong with the world. That girl needs to start a blog about her lemonade stand. She could make lots of money and learn about business that way.

I looked up the story - and to be fair, she wasn't just propping up a little stand in her parents' driveway; she was selling lemonade at a festival and had made $1,800+ in revenue. Which is awesome, of course, but when you've sold nearly 4,000 cups of lemonade without meeting certain health and safety standards, there's a reasonable risk that someone will get sick.

I saw this on the news as well but they left out the part about the festival. I agree that at a public event of that size, perhaps it wasn't so unfair, though I understand the thing is under review. Times have changed sadly.

I didn't realize it was at a festival either, although the little girl is very enterprising. I wouldn't let my kids do it just because of all the strangers that come up. Even if I was there I just wouldn't feel comfortable. That is how the world is today though.

Default What wire to use ?

I am looking to make a switch that can switch on and off anything plugged into a 110vac 15amp wall plug. The switch will interrupt the smaller (hot) pin. I need to know if I need to use 14 gauge (15 amp) wire since it could be used for anything or can I get away with a smaller profile 16 gauge or 18 gauge wire>
Thanks,
