Girls' School Made Me Mad

All last year I would go to pick my girls up about half an hour before they got out. I would park and wait in the cafeteria. This year I can't get through the line of cars to do it. They are so disorganized! I am going in tomorrow to talk to someone, either they need to get more organized with getting the kids out to the cars or something !

As someone who has worked in schools and daycares I know that while it's frustrating for the parents it can take some time for the school; to set up a system that works. Every school year and group of kids is different. For example, here the schools are going with a whole new schedule to accomadate less buses to save money it's taking a little time to work the bugs out.

Geez, where do you live that they are in school already? School doesn't start here until after Labor Day. And believe me, I can't wait for it to start to get some peace and quiet around here.

Yeah I'd love for school to be on but we don't start again till the end of the first week of September. Our system is simple-the teacher marches the children out onto the playground, and we leave on foot. Cars are banned from school property and from the road outside for a certain distance.

A lot of school districts now start in early August. It's more income for the schools and less time the parents have to watch their own kids. That's my take on it.

We live in Georgia and they start in August and get out in May. I wish they would start later like after Labor Day because of the heat. They said they are trying to encourage parents to place their kids on the bus which I won't do because there are middle and high school kids on there and I don't want my girls to get hurt or messed with.
