Vitamin A is definitely a concern, however it is the synthetic version that it the most dangerous. There is a LOT of research regarding vitamin D to show huge benefit, and in fact new meta studies are showing that there wasn't actually any evidence to support previous studies that showed a toxicity level for vitamin D.
D has huge benefits when it comes to joint health, with many arthritis sufferers benefiting from therapeutic levels. |

Thanks Charlie. I'm currently taking the capsules my husband won't take because they're too large for him to swallow. I want to get him some small ones but I was concerned about something I read about the amounts of vitamins A and D. I can't find anything current, so I'm glad you're well informed!

My mother in law has bad arthritis and has just changed rheumatologists (well, about six months ago). She's gone through a lot and has been telling me virtually every step of the way, plus sending me links. Hey, I like to read so it's all good!
If you are concerned do some reading. I wouldn't suggest asking your doc because they may be oldschool and see danger. If I can find links I'll post them. Edit; right off the bat take a look at this; http://arthritis.about.com/b/2008/07...ain-relief.htm http://www.hopkins-arthritis.org/ask...rthr-1129.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/ar...arthritis.html (P.S I hate the daily mail, think it's a rag, but there are some useful names dropped for further research). http://www.wddty.com/arthritis-nutri...pplements.html I'll leave you with those for now. Good luck! Last edited by Charlie; 07-26-2010 at 06:59 AM. |
