Default Getting rid of warts

Apart from rubbing them with a dead cat at midnight, or some such weird stuff, how do you do it? I have heard that nothing you can buy is guaranteed to work. I did try rubbing dandelion juice on the small one on my finger but nothing happened. I'm now trying the plaster wrapped around it to deprive it of oxygen, so we will see!

I have heard that you can put duct tape on your wart. Somehow it keeps the oxygen off the wart and it kills it. You can also have them burnt off at a doctor's office.

The duct tape thing takes about a month to actually work, if it does at all. There are over-the-counter things like Freez-A-Way that work for some people. If that doesn't work, though, just go to the doctor - it's easier and faster.

I've been to see my doctor and she doesn't want to know. Apparently none of the proprietary medications are guaranteed to work. They are quite hit and miss. I tried duct tape and it just fell off (the tape not the wart, lol) so I'm currently using fabric strapping!

I'm sorry but I don't understand what you mean when you say your doctor "doesn't want to know"? You mean she doesn't know how to get rid of the wart or doesn't think it needs to be done?

She looked at my finger, said, "Oh yes, it's a little wart. These things usually disappear overnight but I can give you some homeopathic medicine which may help." She gave me these tiny little pills (can't even remember what they were called) that I had to take daily without touching them and they did no good!

This is just to let you know that I got rid of the wart myself. I figured out that if the reason for using the tape is to keep the air/oxygen away from the wart, painting it with clear nail varnish would do the same so I did and it dried up. I was able to pull it away without pain and it just left a little depression in the skin which is now going away!

I have heard some of these things. I don't know about the duck tape. It might work but it would really hurt to pull it off!
