Default Hayfever

Has it started early this year? I thought I had a head cold but the sneezing, running eyes and running nose only lasted a day so it must have been hayfever, don't you think?

It really depends on where you live. In my part of the country, the flowers are beginning to blossom as the temperature warms up so I started my allergy medication about a month ago.

I live in the UK where we have had, alledgedly, the coldest Winter for 30 years and yet we have pansies, snowdrops and daffodils growing in the garden and the birds are breeding already!

I'm so very glad to read this. I had a horrible day yesterday and was beginning to panic that I was starting yet another new cold. Thanks!

I have allergies all year long. I have noticed that they have kicked up a bit in the last couple of weeks. I've been itchy and stuffy throughout the day! I just take an allergy pill.

I have allergies all year too. I have heard though, if you eat at least a teaspoon of locally grown honey that your hayfever will get better. I think it has to do with the pollen in the honey. It sort of acts like an allergy shot-exposing your system to minute amounts of pollen allows it to get over reacting like the pollen is a foreign substance.

That's a good tip, especially as I like honey. I usually take a spoonful when I take a drink of cider vinegar but I'll now source some local stuff. I live in the country so it shouldn't be difficult.

Slowly introducing your body to bee pollen is supposed to help you deal with the allergies that you get when flowers start to blossom. Not sure how it works but for some, it does the trick.
