Default Quality Sleep

I've just read that if you feel grumpy and unwell when you get up in the morning it could be, not just that you haven't had enough sleep but that it wasn't good quality sleep. Wait, there's more...it could be that you've had too much sleep! For goodness sake, how can anyone know whether they've had too much, too little or poor quality sleep?

well.. this is from my perspective
if people had too much: they will be finding difficulty to sleep
if people had too little: they will feel so tired that theyd fall asleep within seconds if they meet the bed

however, on several occasions, people could get tired to a limit where they no longer have the desire to sleep

these things are still uncertain as they still need further observations
one thing is certain tho
when you have a quality sleep, you'll know it it feels damn great!

Great, so when I'm grumpy I've either had too much or too little sleep. Now that is a great study. I'm so glad money was wasted to do that study.

How do you get better quality sleep at night if you aren't already? I am pretty sure I'm not as I am tired a lot throughout the day.

I have never had a normal sleep schedule that I can remember, this even before I was an "adult".

Right now taking last night for example, I had hot flashes all night long. I know I am too young for menopause, so its not that. I also know that I am not feeling sick, so its not that either.

What I do know? It was not good sleep and you are right, when you get it, its damn good.

I used to have restless sleeps that made me grumpy and irritable but since I took some multi vitamins, I've had a good night sleep regardless of the number of hours.

As silly as it sounds the best sleep I tend to get is always on the last day of being really sick. That is the time that I am so tired I just can not take it anymore and its all dark deep sleep.

In my own point of view, too much sleep means they get enough rest for more than eight hours and upon waking up they would feel hungry. Too little or poor quality sleep means that someone is insomniac and and stays up late knowing that they have work the next day.

Definitely I don't get too much sleep. Normally I sleep only less than six hours a day. That's not enough and I feel tired and week, but what to do? I have so much work to complete.

What is proper sleep, most say 8hrs/night, but for me it also depends on the time I am sleeping. I can never really get to sleep before midnight, but if I wake by say 6am (when its still really nasty cold outside) I am a total grump.

I think there is no proper time for sleeping. Each of us has its own internal clock and we sleep according to what our internal clock was programmed to. We program it by always sleeping at a specific time of the day. Let us remember that there are people whose jobs are at night so they need to sleep at day.

If we don't meet that time for sleeping then we get grumpy.
