Default Freezing The Damaged Hard Disk

Did anyone experience having their hard disk broken or not detected by the BIOS? There is a way to bring it back to life. Although the success rate is not 100%, there is no harm in trying because anyway your hard disk is already broken. Place it inside the refrigerator, just below the freezer. Let it stay there overnight.

It really sounds crazy but I already tried it when I was still in college. Even my teacher tried it too and guess what, our hard disks came back to life. But that was about 8 years ago so I'm not sure if the hard disks of today will still react as the old bulky hard disks of previous years.

Now that's something new for me. Maybe I can place my broken cellphone in the fridge to make it work again.

I'm thinking that freezing will make the parts of the hard disk become compact or closer to each other. This could be the reason why the hard drive will work after it was placed in the fridge. The hard drive might just had a lose connection with its parts.
