Default Wireless Security

OK, this is a very basic question. But I need to ask before I jump in and foul things up, again.

My LAN consists of Primary Wireless Router, Client Wireless Access Point, Wireless Client Bridge. All working together without Wireless Security at the moment. All have Username and Passwords to get into them.

What is the proper order to go into them and set a Wireless Security key.

I assume I'd want to do the primary first, but will that effectively lock me out of my network?
