Floppy disks are outdated and obselete. Their capacity and reliability is below that of current devices and from the top of my head i can only see them being used in archaic machines that need that sort of thing.
Most retailers don't bother selling them anymore. |

I was fortunate to see and use the 5.25" floppy disks when I was a student. Then when 3.5" floppy disks arrive, I was more thrilled because it could record more than the 5.25" floppy. I began collecting them because they come in different colors. Those were the days. You could really appreciate technology when you have tried and experienced the old gadgets.
Floppy disks are in the record books already. Even the kids now don't know what is a floppy disk anymore. |

I think there are two or three floating around in my home, packed away some where that is. I have not used one in years, and I can remember about 6 years ago I had a tower with a casing for it, but it was never used. I never used the CD rom either, weird.

My old computer, which is used for games only, still has a floppy drive and yes, we still use it.
There are some old programs, which never would sold on CD or DVD and we like to play them. If one of this programs is having problems, we use the old original floppy discs to restore it. |
