Wireless Mouse

Our grandson is wanting a wireless keyboard and mouse. We've been looking at them now for about three months and I've not been hearing very good things about them. I've heard they are very unreliable and lose signal easily. Is this correct. He's going to be doing school work with it so I want something reliable for him.

Personally I'd prefer the wired one.
It's just too much hassle (at least for me)
The wireless ones need batteries, and the signal problem could come up any moment.
Since I'm a gamer, I can't afford losing my mouse even for just a brief moment

Just the same as router.
Though it is more convenient using the wireless technology, I'd prefer to use wires whenever I can. It's just more reliable.
