Upgrading Laptops

I've had plenty of experience upgrading, and building desktop computers, but I'm more nervous working with laptops. Have you ever upgraded your own or have you always sent it away for work to be done? What potentially can be changed out?

From my understanding, you can practically change anything from your laptop just like a desktop. I haven't upgraded any part of my laptop except for adding memory in it. I suggest that if you want to upgrade a hardware in your laptop then you better bring it to a computer shop and let them do the upgrade for you.

Thanks for enlightening. I used to think before that other than extending the memory, laptops cannot be upgraded. Yet, if I ever need to upgrade my laptop, I would get it don't by the pros.

I didn't want to upgrade my laptop cuz I am afraid it may crash so I use an external hard drive for additional disk space. It is more convenient to since I can also use it on my pc.
