Do we have any home designers here? I've been curious to what it would cost for a designer to help plan out building a house.

I'm sure the cost of a consult will depend on a lot of factors, including the experience/prestige of the architect, whether he/she is working as an individual or working through a company, and the details of the project. You might do an online search for "freelance architect" and see what you come up with.
