Personally, I think comprehensive sex education is a must - especially since teenagers relay so much misinformation amongst themselves. I never received any sort of sex education (aside from an outdated tape on puberty), and my mother decided to skip "the talk" altogether and just buy me a book instead.

This is a tough one. I think sex education should be taught but it should be balanced information, both abstinence and birth control. There's no use kidding ourselves - the kids are out there having sex whether we like it or not. At least give them the information that they need to protect themselves. If all parents did this at home, we wouldn't need it but unfortunately, many parents bury their heads in the sand and think it won't happen to their child.

I'm sure that just as many youngsters had sex in the olden days but it was hidden because it was even more scandalous and sex wasn't discussed so openly. I had no sex education apart from what I learned from my friends and racy novels like Lady Chatterley's Lover. I can't argue against children being taught the dangers and pitfalls before they start to experiment.

In today’s society where we have show which are explicit in showing exposing stuff, from which children pick false information and end up doing something embarrassing. I definitely think that we should make them aware of this topic rather than keeping it confined.
