Using Air Conditioners, Bad or Good?

I was thinking about this for quite some time now. The more we use air conditioners, the hotter our earth will become because of the freons being released. The hotter our earth will become then the longer we would use air conditioners. Does this make sense? So is it good or bad to use air conditioners?

I have an air conditioner and I minimize the use of it as much as possible.

I guess if you believe in global warming then it's an issue for you. Since I don't, I'll use my air conditioner when it gets too hot and stay nice and cool inside.

In some situations, air conditioners are really just essential. I live pretty much on the equator and it gets dangerously hot here. Many people with children and pets use air conditioners just to keep them safe on really hot days.
