Encouraging Career Choices

As your children grow up do you encourage them to think about career choices, or do you prefer to let them go their own way and just do as they please?

As a teacher, I try to identify the talents my students present and take note of the things they enjoy, and try to suggest careers where they could put those natural talents and desires to work. I would never try to push a career on to them just because the market for it was good or it paid a lot, though.
