Default employer or employee?

In any kinds of business, two person only exists. You could either be an employer or an employee. I just want to know your opinion. Would you rather be an employee or employer? What could be the advantages of one from the other?

I have always preferred to be an employee. Yes, I know, I know... You can't get rich working for someone else. Your own business is the way to go. However, I don't think I can handle the demands and responsibilities of running my own business.

It is really hard to own your own business... you have to risk so much and when the market slows down it is really hard on everyone. But then when the market slows down you are just as likely to be laid off as you are to lose a business I suppose.

Neither an employee or an employer fits me. I am a lone ranger. So I would prefer to work alone as a freelancer (though it is still an employee I guess) independent contractor.

same thing..

the different is the amount of money that you make.

There are some employees earn much more money than employer.

but for me, i prefer as an employee.

I've been an employee, an executive, an entrepreur and an employer. I loved all those roles I have played. Each has its own challenges and rewards.

Dido creo. I'm a freelancer as well, although I do question at times whether or not I'm the employed or employer? I suppose I'm both at some point or another.

Yes, that's what I do right now, too, and I like it more than going to the office every day. It is a tough call though. You have to hunt for work, and you have to have different sources of it, in case one goes belly up.

No questions asked: an employer! I never liked taking orders from anyone and I don't work too well around office politics either. That's the reason why I quit my job, as it completely went against my principles. I am doing my own thing now and even though it doesn't pay as much as I used to make at my previous job, I would rather work hard for less than having to answer to someone else's whims.
