Default Why are Macs best?

People rave about them all the time. Please tell me why my next computer should be a Mac. I am aware that they are more expensive so I need to know what the benefit will be.

Unfortunately, I won't be recommending a Mac for you. You pay more for a Mac than a PC with the same memory and speed. Unless you're really into grapic design or video editing or something like that, save yourself some cash and frustration and just get a PC. The only benefit I see in Macs is that they are less prone to viruses...but of course, you could just get good antivirus software to help with that.

LOL Yes, please do. I am only joking with you. I hear so many negative comments by people who DO NOT one a Mac but most people who do, swear by them. What is all the fussing about?

You're partially right there. Mac is more expensive than PC.
However, Mac is not just about graphic design or video editing. That is the wrong view. Mac is also good for gaming, office use, or just casual user.
One thing I like about Mac is the really really quick startup and shutdown. Unlike PC, which startup time gets longer and longer as time passes.

Another thing I like with Mac is the duration of the batteries. I own the old model of MacBook, and the battery life is up to 6 hours. CMIIW, the latest one is up to 8 hours.

And you're also right about the virus. With the right anti-virus, your PC is virus-free.

Thanks for your opinions guys. I have heard that Macs are good for graphic designers but this would not be a good enough reason for me to pay the extra. It would seem that the only other benefit is a fast boot process and, as slow as this can be on a PC, I still won't be spending all that extra money just for this benefit.

Point for the gaming, which I forgot, but personally, I just don't see Macs as being that great for office and casual use. Too many programs are incompatible with Macs, or the Mac version of a program produces files that are altered when you try to send them to someone with a PC, and the majority of the working world and casual users are using PCs, like it or not.

I hadn't know that they had improved the battery life and startup issues since I last used one...still not willing to pay 500 bucks extra for it, though.

Mac is good for almost about anything in a computer. I still own the old Macbook Pro 15" and I'm still loving it. The software and hardware integrates seamlessly! It just works.

Other than that, Mac is simple, it really just do what you told them to do. I've read a poster in this forum that complains about his/her PC has a mind of its own and I was like "LOL this wouldn't happen in a Mac". I've been using Mac since 2005 and I personally recommend it to people who are still a PC user. Try it once and you will never go back.

Basically, if you want to know all about the benefits of using Mac instead of Piece of Crap (PC) just go to the Apple website. There are too many to be typed, honestly! Get a Mac today and you'll feel what I'm talkin about.

Get Some!

Actually stats show that like over 90% of Mac owners also own a working PC. In addition, income range comes into play and then the pure fact of not liking the limitations of having a Mac. Here is a little snippet from Wikipedia on Macintosh too. :

Quote:
Notably, a report published in the first quarter of 2008 found that Apple had a 14% market share in the personal computer market in the US, including 66% of all computers over $1,000.
Market research indicates that Apple draws its customer base from a higher-income demographic than the mainstream personal computer market.

1. Wikipedia is not a reliable source. Not a source you can quote from.
2. Of course they still own a working PC. PCs have no resale value so I guess its better to just keep it them in the drawer, unused.
