Older men and young women

I've been to several online dating sites, and I am amused about some men in their 50's and above seeking women from 18 to 30 to be their partners. Why do older men prefer young women?

I can't tell, maybe it's in their taste. I have seen a lot of cases like this and I don't understand why. The same situation goes the same as for older women looking for younger men but I really don't know the reason.

I find it a little funny and I have dated older than my age, but it never worked it. Fun times sure, but nothing life long. Too many differences.

A few years doesn't count for much, but a few decades? I don't think I could really relate to someone 20+ years older or younger than myself. Seeking women 20-40 years younger - and excluding women your own age - says a lot about your motivations and character.

My partner is 53 and I am 30. You would think that it would cause lots of problems but it just does not. It is amazing because he and I communicate on so many different levels. He is young at heart and I am more mature than my age. We just seem to fit perfectly. Still in the beginning he was careful to try and not get serious with me because he had a rule that he would not date anyone out side of 1 decade from him. We tried to resist each other because of the age but in the end we knew we were soul mates.

I have no idea, but it's gone on for decades upon decades. There's something about that younger partner; I don't think they can deal with age staring them in the face.

The difference between the two most of the time would cause problems but there are rare exceptions to the rule. My husband is six years younger than me and it has caused some problems.

It is nice to see a couple in love and does not matter age if it is love. Of course if it is not love then I think it is a way to try and escape growing older and age as well as status.

I definitely think it's possible for genuine love to thrive despite a large age gap, but that doesn't mean that the generational differences won't eventually cause problems. If one person feels like they're being treated like a child in their own relationship, that can cause a lot of resentment.
