Do you get Upset if....

Ok ladies, let's say your husband/boyfriend/partner only gave you a small card for Valentine's Day or a tiny box of cheap candy. Would you get upset? I personally would not at all. In fact if my husband took the time to remember the day and we just spent it together, I don't mind him not getting fancy gifts or anything at all. I had a friend who last year dumped her boyfriend because he didn't get her a nice Valentine's Day gift, and then another friend who left his girlfriend two weeks before Valentine's Day just so he wouldn't feel pressured into buying something he could not afford. Why has this day and other holidays become so materialistic?

Unfortunately everything has become materialistic. Valentines day is just another day for the manufacturers and shops to make even more money out of us.

I never get a gift. My little girl usually makes me a home made card and lets everyone sign it. Other than that, I don't usually bother with it.
